INDOS (Indian National Database of Seafarers), is a computerised national database of Indian seafarers . No seafarer without an INDOS number will be admitted to any DGS approved maritime training course , other than a three month pre-sea training course in India.  This database is also used for quick reference by statutory authorities such as Flag State, Port State, Immigration , Employers etc.,  The database includes data like the seafarer's address, photograph, signature, e-mail , telephone, etc. An INDOS number consists of eight alphanumeric characters. Henceforth, It is mandatory to create a user name and password in Seafarers Registration under E-Governance of DG Shipping Website (www.dgshipping.gov.in) which is an authenticated document and is compulsory for submission of all the applications / documents related to the requirement of the administration.  

MMA provides assistance in getting INDOS number for candidates , if required. This facility is extended only to those candidates who do at least one fresh maritime training course with us. The documents required for the same are Original 10th Standard Mark sheet  , Copy of valid Passport  & One Passport Size Photogaraph ( white shirt, white background,80%face area whith high resolution).

STCW  stands for Standards of Training, Certification and Watch Keeping. This is the standard set for all seafarers by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) and all certificates issued by the Administration under this standard are recognised worldwide by all authorities in the maritime industry.

As per D.G. Shipping Orders, Course will be Completed in THREE Mandatory Steps:-

1. D.G. Shipping E- Learning to be done on D.G. Shipping Website (To be Done Online)
2. Offline / Classroom Classes : Taught at MMA Kolkata Campus. candidates will Have to Attend the Physical Classroom Classes (100% attendannce), Ontime for the Entrire duration of the course.
3. Once the Above TWO Steps are Complete, You are then eligible to Appear for the DGS Exit Exam ONLINE for which you have to pay Rs. 295/- per course per attempt to DGS (this to be paid to the Institute & we will pay to DGS on your behalf, Only first Exam FEE is included in the Course FEE). You will Get 3 Attempts to Clear the DGS Exit Exam ONLINE, failing which the course at MMA (Step No.2) will have to be done again, by Rebooking.
